The Wedding at Meadow Hill Farm

We met in June. The plans we discussed over dinner were literally the best. (All I can say is it included a nugget bar…a dream of mine) I was excited. We met again in October. We had a blast during their engagement session early one overcast morning. Most of their plans were finalized by this point. The excitement to finally celebrate their marriage was visible in every photo taken that morning. We spoke on the phone in February. The timeline was created. Everything was ready to go. Then COVID-19 made its presence known a week before they were going to say I do. Things changed.

An Elegant Downtown Columbia, TN Wedding

White. Navy. Touches of gold and mauve here and there. Greenery giving life to the room through each arrangement. It was honestly breathtaking. And though these details perfectly describe Rachel’s elegant taste. Those details aren’t the only ones that will be remember from this wedding day. It will be the details such as the calm that washed over them during their first look, because they were finally with their person.

A Nashville,TN Engagement

I am a morning person. Ask anyone that knows me. When I get out of bed, I am ready to go. I am the most productive, the most cheerful (most times), and the most lucid I will be for the entire day. Add in sunshine and coffee and all of those things double. However, for Gretchen and Hunter’s session, I had to wake up at 3:20. I probably should clarify that I am a morning person at 5:30am, not 3:20am. Needless to say, it took several minutes, two cups of coffee, and a lot of jams to get me to that point. I think I became a morning person about the time, I arrived in Downton Nashville, which thankfully was the appropriate time to become that version of myself.

The last year is finally in review...

Guess what!? I’m backkkkkkk. (I know you missed me;)) Last year was absolutely insane, but in the best kind of way. I had some of the greatest clients and I got to meet SO MANY NEW PEOPLE, which you know is one of my favorite things in life to do. This past year, my life changed in so many ways: new home, new relationships, lots of time spent learning about myself, a new type of understanding in my relationship with God, and just a whole lotta venturing outside of my comfort zone.

Ardmore Station Nuptials

Layer upon layer. Hints of pink Champagne. Perfectly appliquéd sleeves. It was the most beautiful dress I had ever seen. Then Katy put it on. It looked like it was made just for her. Her gorgeous brunette curls complimenting the dress’s perfect palette. I was seriously in awe and I believe I told Josh a million times that he was going to be speechless when he saw her.

The Church: Where It Began

The church steeple. The brick. The teal windows. The blue and white stairs. They had seen a lot and could tell countless stories. They knew Sara as a little girl. And they were there when she made life long friends. They had watched her learn and grow into an ambitious young woman. And they saw how her smile makes people feel loved. They were happy when a new worship leader came in. And they saw him grow into a leader. They applauded Sean as he encouraged others to step into new roles. And they were even there when Sara met Sean and something began to develop. They watched as their relationship grew from attraction to love. They celebrated the amazing moments… and offered comfort in the not so amazing moments. So naturally, they were there to witness Sara and Sean’s forever commitment to love, support, and inspire each other. This church is more than building. It is the backdrop for the beginning of Sara and Sean’s story.

So I know I have been pretty much non-existent these last few weeks and that’s because I have been moving. (No worries. Sara and Sean’s Engagement Session recap is below.

A Beautiful Athens, AL Engagement

“So we are awkward, when we are taking pictures.” “Yeah, we just kinda freeze and force a smile.” These were the two sentences that followed our hellos when I arrived at Founders Hall at Athens State on Saturday. My response, “Yeah, everyone always says that. No worries.” And once again, I was right. (The world will one day learn that I am always right.) Josh and Katy were absolutely perfect.

A Memorable Huntsville, AL Engagement

5:45am. 26 degrees. Sunday morning. Blevins Gap, Huntsville, Al. In the pitch black, I sat in my car sipping the my last drop of coffee and giving myself a pep talk. A pep talk about the hike that would prove to be one of the most memorable engagement sessions (for several reasons) I had had so far. The hike started out pretty uneventful and pretty flat, but about 15 minutes in—my lungs and legs were burning. I was having the hardest time keeping up with Shaylee and Ryan, but I just kept telling myself it was going to be worth it.
