The four days that I have been dreaming of for weeks has finally come and unfortunately gone. My friend Allie and I escaped normal life for a bit. Just the two of us. Being away was nice. The beach was nice (and a little chilly). The seafood was nice (actually it was phenomenal). If I am honest though, my favorite part of the four days was the conversations we had. Listening to her wisdom on marriage and motherhood, discussing the frustrations and disappointments of life, thanking God for giving us different lives than the ones we dreamed of as children, laughing at how naive we were (and maybe still are at times), and of course, smiling at the roller coaster of a friendship we share.

They deserve thought, too." At first, I was like I do enjoy and am grateful for the small things. However, as I began to become more intentional on finding the small things and began a gratitude journal, I realized that I was thanking God for big or maybe sometimes medium sized things and I just let a lot of small things happen without much thought. The more I began to actually enjoy the small things, the more I began to enjoy and appreciate life.
