Dear Savannah,
A year ago this last month, it was a lazy morning in your oversized bed. You were bundled up in your cozy white and navy comforter reading through your emails. While scanning through one after another, you scrolled upon an email that contained the words "free", "photography", "webinar", and it started in 15 minutes. You quickly signed up and never looked back. Now five classes, two online conferences, 50+ webinars, four months of straight podcasts, and countless articles later, you have survived a year of being utterly passionate.
Goodness, you had no idea how much of your life would change in a year. You didn’t know that you would have to become your own marketer, boss, accountant, and forever student, when you stepped into the role as photographer. You could have never seen how photography was going to breath life back into your mundane day-to-day. You didn’t have a clue how many sweet faces would trust you to capture their memories or those that would rally around you and encourage you to chase a dream... your dream. You couldn’t have known of the hard days, where you wanted to just give up and then of the beautiful moments that made every late night and worry completely worth it. You couldn’t have seen that your free time and weekends would be dedicated to growing your business. You had no idea if you would be any good or if you would completely fail. You would have never guessed how many clients would become friends. You couldn’t have known the excitement and fear you would feel every single time you sent a client gallery. You didn’t know how much you would learn about yourself and how freeing it would feel.
However, you did know that it was going to require you to step out on a lot of faith (a whole lot). You knew that even though there was fear of the unknown, you also felt this new level of courage. You knew from the moment you read that email that this was going to be the change that you had been praying for— for more than a year.
