It has been two and half months since I stopped to reflect on the small in between things going on in my life. If you missed the first edition, be sure to go back and read it here. In short, this series is just simply about those significant or not so significant nuggets of life that I am ever so grateful for!
Recent In Betweens:
- First, let me give you a few updates. My bed-making routine is going on 135 days! I do believe I have officially made it a habit. Oh and my plants! THEY ARE STILL ALIVE! My black thumb is turning more of a dark hunter green. See below ... for the plants not my thumb.
- As part of my day job, I had the privilege of putting on a youth leadership conference. It was so rewarding seeing all of these middle and high school students work together to make their schools and community better. Not only that but we ran a Toilet Paper Drive between all of the schools and collectively they brought in over 3,500 rolls to support a local effort. HIGH-STINKIN'-FIVE to you guys!
- With one of my recent ventures to Nashville, I got to meet up with two of the three of my college besties, Em and Steph. We definitely missed Punk a.k.a. Sarah! (Feel free to ask her about her nickname.) The four us have been friends since the first week of freshman year and I don't see it ending soon even as life changes. Also, we ate at the Little Donkey, and it was superb.
- Two of my clients brought me the sweetest thank you gifts! Thank you both, Margaret and Grayson!
- I finally learned how to put super trendy waves in my hair when its straight. I know it doesn't make much sense for me to straighten my hair only to curl it back. Believe me, I question it every time I am about 30 minutes into it. Oh, the things we (I) do to be fashionable. *insert eye roll*
- I have a new addiction. I am addicted to Lewisburg's Dirt Cheap. I have even started factoring it in to all my recent trips to Nashville. However for the sake of my wallet and closet space, it was all I could do not stop this last weekend on the way to Franklin.
- I got to second shoot a wedding with Niki with NTG Photography. Then Kayla B. came and second shot a wedding with me! It is just so much more fun with two photographers!
- My newest song obsession is the song "Hungry" by Kathryn Scott. (I especially love this version by Casting Crowns). I don't know about you but I like to bury my feelings of longing and need very deep. I never want to look desperate or like I don't have it all together. This song echoes my deepest desires. It reminds me of a quote from Jesus Calling that I have at my desk at work. " You have realized that needing Me is the key to knowing me intimately, which is the gift above all gifts."
- Then, of course, we got to celebrate all of the mothers in our lives. I gotta say I have a pretty good one! She is one of the main reasons that I am confident enough to do photography, to write this blog, and to conquer each day. She taught me how to find my inner strength and that my strength has absolutely nothing to do with me. Also, she is a strong advocate for letting others know that we are very far from perfect, no matter how we seem. Photos below for point emphasis.
Only missing Taylor the Nut or this would have been perfection.
