The Weeping Willow Family Session

It was beautiful. Everything. The drive down back roads. The windows down. Johnnyswim blaring through the speakers. All of the greens from the copious amounts of rain the previous week. And as I was driving, I was thinking about how this is first official spring session and it couldn’t be much better. Until I pulled into Brennan and Bretta’s driveway (after initially missing it and driving for about a half mile. Thanks, GPS), there was this stunning Weeping Willow* that had the sun shining through it. It was almost magical.

So, after saying my hello’s, I shyly asked if it would be possible to take pictures with the tree, and they both said sure. I am in love with this sweet family and it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that they had a gorgeous tree.  If you have read my previous post, you already know that most people in my community know each other in some way. This family is no different. Bretta and I met in high school and then I met her husband, Brennan when he began working in my office about three years ago. However, they were not the stars of this session on Saturday, Presleigh and Finn stole the show. 100%. Presleigh is probably the most mature little girl I have ever met, and not only that but she knew exactly how to act in front of the camera. (See her own little session at the end of the post) And Finn. Well, he knows how to play hard to get. He was all about running in the opposite direction of my camera and saying “Finny done”. (Yes, he does speak in third person, which makes me love this kid so much more.) He, also, preferred the mud puddle over me, which who can really blame the kid. It was a fun puddle. However, his parents may not be too happy with me, because mud ended up absolutely everywhere. SO SORRY! Bretta and Brennan, thank you for letting me spend time with your adorable littles and trusting that the mud would be worth the images!

Presleigh's Very Own Session

*Side note: You see I have this thing about Weeping Willows, which stems from my obsession with the movie Pocahontas. If you have never seen it, 1.) you need to watch it 2.) there is this talking, wise tree Grandmother Willow. She is probably my favorite character... after John Smith and Pocahontas. Anywho, if you have a gorgeous Weeping Willow and wouldn't mind me taking portraits in it. Please, please let me know!
